TPC River Highlands, the site of the Travelers Championship this week on the PGA Tour, features a Bobby Weed design that was first opened in Cromwell in Connecticut in 1989.
The current layout was constructed on the site where Middletown Golf Club opened in 1928. Edgewood Country Club was established in 1934. Before Weed took over, the site had been reworked in 1982 by renowned architect Pete Dye as TPC of Connecticut. Weed’s most recent work on the course was in 2016. He renovated bunkers and updated the strategic requirements.
The TPC River Highlands, a private course, will be 6,852 yards long with a 70-point par this week.
