Auburn achieved a monumental milestone by securing the 2024 NCAA men’s golf national championship for the first time in the school’s history. The Tigers emerged victorious by defeating Florida State with a score of 3-2 at Omni La Costa’s North Course in CARLSBAD, Calif.
Top-Ranked Triumph
Despite finishing in sixth place after stroke play, Auburn, the top-ranked team in the country, showcased their prowess by overcoming Virginia and Ohio State to advance to the championship match.
Clutch Victory
With the scoreboard deadlocked at 2-2, Auburn’s JM Butler delivered an exceptional performance by defeating FSU’s Luke Clanton in the anchor match with a score of 2 and 1, securing the championship for the Tigers.
Season of Success
This victory marked Auburn’s 10th win of the season and marked a triumphant conclusion to their stellar performance in the SEC Championship, NCAA Regionals, and now the NCAAs.
