CHARLOTTE (N.C.) – U.S. Presidents Cup Captain Davis Love III was disappointed to see his team lose both Saturday sessions and have a four point lead going into the final day. He believed that his 12-man team would win Sunday singles.
He said, “This is one our best formats and they’re going out mad tomorrow.”
Love drafted several top players from around the globe to his lineup to try to create a sea red scoreboard. Justin Thomas was the leadoff spot, followed by Sam Burns, Jordan Spieth and Patrick Cantlay. 1 Scottie Scheffler. Although they had mixed results, Team USA was able to retain the Presidents Cup with just four points. It also won 17 1/2-12 1/2.

Spieth stated, “It feels really great.” “When you go out early, as I have done almost every team event on Sunday, they are looking for red on their board, and it feels great to finally give that.
Patrick Cantlay won his only defeat of the week, beating Adam Scott 3 and 2.
Cantlay stated, “I knew that it was very important for me today to get my point,” and he said, “And I’m really happy with how I played.”
The outmatched International team kept the game interesting until Sunday night. Si Woo Kim, South Korea’s leader in South Korea, shushed the crowd with his finger at 15, and then silenced them with his putter at 18, draining a clutch birdie par putt at 18 for Thomas 1 up.

Trevor Immelman, International team captain, said that “this young kid has burst onto our scene in the past six months.” He’s been a huge gift to our sport. This kid has the potential to become a global star.
