Flight Trackers Hint at Bahamas Meeting
Patrick Cantlay and Rory McIlroy have verified a Golfweek report indicating that a group of PGA Tour players is arranging a meeting with Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the head of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. The purpose of the meeting is to progress towards a deal that could potentially bring back men’s professional golf.
Possible Bahamas Location
Initially scheduled to occur at a private residence in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, after the conclusion of the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, flight tracking data suggests that the meeting might be taking place in the Bahamas.
Flight Details
Flight information reveals that a jet linked to Saudi Aramco, the state-owned petroleum and natural gas company led by Al-Rumayyan, flew to Houston after the announcement of the June 6 framework agreement. Another jet associated with Aramco flew to the Bahamas, where Tiger Woods’ jet and yachts are reportedly situated. PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan’s jet, registered to Tour Air Inc., and a jet tied to SSG consortium member and Fenway Sports Group co-founder John Henry, registered to Algonquin Aviation LLC, were both heading to the Bahamas on Monday morning. Although Henry’s plane landed in the Bahamas, it has since departed.

Previous Discussions
During his annual State of the Tour address last week, Monahan disclosed that he met with Al-Rumayyan, the PIF governor and LIV Golf chairman, in Saudi Arabia in January, accompanied by SSG representatives. In January, SSG made a $1.5 billion investment in PGA Tour Enterprises, the entity that will influence the future of the sport.
Monahan emphasized the shared vision to enhance golf’s global potential through ongoing discussions. Despite remaining challenges, he expressed optimism for a favorable outcome for the PGA Tour, the sport, and its fans.
