Most of us should strive for better rotation through impacts. The everyday golfer is more likely to have experienced hip rotation at impact. This is one of the most striking differences between them and pros. The two-cheek impact position is where both cheeks are visible at impact. This drill is great! Have a look at this drill!
Notes:
-
Get an 8 or 9-iron and get ready to hit the ball.
-
Turn about halfway back into the backswing, and then pump down until the shaft is about parallel to ground. You should feel your hips and chest as wide as possible.
-
After some practice, give the ball a light hit. Slowly increase speed and incorporate this sense into full-speed swings.
We must remember that being able to move more freely through impacts is largely an indicator that the clubhead and club faces are in a good position during the downswing. You’ll likely hit the ball harder if your club face is open. This drill will help you improve your ball-striking.
Thank you so much for following along. I hope I can contribute in some way to the joy that you feel on the links. Until next time…
