You want the ball to move , so you have to get your body moving . This simple exercise is something that everyone should practice regularly. It is a great reminder of all the turns, tilts and stretches that we must incorporate into our golf swing. Watch…
Here are some things to remember when you do the exercise.
-
You can hold a club between your shoulders and cross your arms across to your chest by holding a club.
-
Place the handle of the club at the target/lead side of your body
-
When you are backswinging, the handle should point towards the ball or the place where it would be.
-
Allow the trail side of the trail to stretch and the trail knee straighten
-
As stretches, the lead side should feel lower than the trail side.
-
These are the same feelings that you’ll use to move into the downswing. Continue this process.
-
The post-impact portion of the swing will see the trail side decrease/shorten, while the lead side will elevate and extend.
This exercise is a great reminder of what a true swing should feel like. Although the drill’s positions are quite extreme, they translate well into a real shot. This simple and easy take-home exercise will help a lot of golfers who show up at my lesson tee. Try it!
