David Lingmerth might be based in Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida. However, the 35-year old Swede may want to look into buying property in Central Ohio.
Lingmerth started the week with a 9-under 62 at the Ohio State University Golf Club’s Scarlet Course, Upper Arlington, Ohio. He held strong for 54 holes and won the 2022 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship. Lingmerth won the 2015 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village, Dublin, Ohio. This victory earned him a ticket back on the PGA Tour.
Lingmerth played steady on the front nine, making the turn at 2-under. He then added his third birdie on the par-5 12th. Lingmerth’s only blemish was a par-3 17th-hole bogey, but that was quickly overcome by a winning birdie at the last hole.
Paul Haley II was second at 15 under. Zecheng Dou was third at 13 below, Michael Gligic was fourth at 12 beneath, and Ben Taylor was fifth at 11 under.
Next week’s Korn Ferry Tour season will end with the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented to United Leasing & Finance by Victoria National Golf Club, Newburgh, Indiana.
