A new invitation-only and private golf club is set to grace the landscape of Simpsonville, just a short 30-minute drive from downtown Greenville, South Carolina. Spanning 290 acres, Kawonu Golf Club, spearheaded by Scott Ferrell with a rich background in global golf course design, will feature an 18-hole course, clubhouse, practice facilities, and four-bedroom cabins. The course design is in the hands of architect Andrew Green.
Creating an Enclave in the Upstate
Scott Ferrell expressed his vision for the club, stating, “We’re creating an enclave that will add a unique concept to the golf landscape of the Upstate. Local members can find solace without the need to travel far, while national members can relish the relaxed club ambiance and explore the charming town of Greenville.”
A Community of Golf Aficionados
The exclusive club aims to cultivate a community of passionate golf enthusiasts and will limit the number of rounds played to maintain the course’s pristine condition.
Anticipated Opening and Club Features
Construction is scheduled to commence later this year or early next year, with an expected grand opening in spring 2027. This launch marks Greenville’s first private club introduction in over three decades.
Building Greatness at Kawonu
Scott Ferrell emphasized the club’s focus on avid golfers who appreciate the game and the camaraderie it fosters. With all the necessary elements in place, Kawonu Golf Club aims to establish itself as one of the premier clubs in America.
