Sky Sports reporter Jamie Weir revealed that LIV golf stars told Jamie to “go [expletive]” himself after he asked him a question.
The correspondent asked the golfer if The Open at St. Andrews would become his last major. Weir didn’t reveal the identity of the golfer, but he shared the conversation on Twitter.
He wrote: “Oddly how one of these players, when I asked him at The Open whether he was concerned that this could be his final major for a while told me to go (expletive), myself’ and that it wasn’t a ‘(expletive), (expletive), question. ‘”
Lee Westwood, LIV golfer, responded to the tweet by saying that it wasn’t him but that he had overheard the conversation. Jamie works for Sky. They cover the PGA & DPWT. What do you think their loyalties are and what is their agenda?
Wednesday’s decision saw Henrik Stenson removed from Europe’s Ryder Cup Captain position “in light of his personal circumstances.”
According to reports, the 46-year-old Swede is on the verge to sign up for the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series. After discussions with Ryder Cup Europe officials and Ryder Cup Europe officials it was decided to effectively dismiss him as captain.
“After Henrik’s personal decisions, it has become obvious that he is unable to fulfill certain contractual obligations to Ryder Cup Europe, which he had previously committed to before his announcement as captain on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. It is therefore impossible for him to continue the captain role.
“Confirmation will be made as to the 2023 European Ryder Cup Captain in due course. Ryder Cup Europe will not comment further on any aspect until then.
Stenson’s March appointment had seemed to end speculation about him being involved in the Saudi-backed breakaway, as he stated that he was 100% committed to the position.
The former Open champion has now announced his intention to join LIV Golf, a move that furthers the rift in the men’s professional golf game.
