NORTH YORK – The RBC Canadian Open was established in 1904 and is the second oldest non-major event on the PGA Tour behind the BMW Championship which dates back to the year 1899.
The Canadian Open is being held at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club for the first-time this week.
Rory McIlroy, two-time champion defending, called the course “good” but penal if you miss the fairways. Justin Rose described it as “quirky.”
The players were low despite the unusual layout – par-5 18 the th forces most players to use an iron – and the inclement weather of the afternoon.
