Wednesday’s announcement by the World Golf Hall of Fame of its finalist for the 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Class was a huge success.

The week of March 6th will see the announcement of the final selections for the 2024 World Golf Hall of Fame Induction Class. Twelve finalists have been selected. They include major champions, coaches, and others who made a significant impact on the game. This includes the remaining seven founders of LPGA.
A nominating committee made up of Hall of Fame members, media representatives, World Golf Foundation Board organisations and other at-large selections selected the finalists. All living Hall of Fame members received ballots and were able to vote.
Greg McLaughlin CEO of World Golf Hall of Fame stated, “The nominees have been selected by the nominating committee who represent the highest calibre of competitors and contributors.” “Congratulations, to all those who were nominated for this special recognition.”
These 12 finalists will be evaluated by a 20-member Selection Committee made up of Hall of Fame members, media representatives, and leaders of major golf clubs. They will review the qualifications and merits of each finalist to select the Class of 2024.
Padraig Harrington and Tom Weiskopf are the 12 finalists. Harrington has won 21 professional titles, with 15 of them coming on the European tour. He has also won three major titles and was a member of six Ryder Cup teams. He was also the captain of the 2020 team.
Weiskopf won the 1973 Open Championship 16 times and was the winner of the PGA Tour.
Pepper won 17 times on LPGA, including two majors. Pepper was also named 1992 Player of Year. She was also a member of six Solheim Cup teams.
Palmer’s career includes 21 victories, two majors and was named Player of the Year in 1975.
Dawson was the R&A’s chief executive for 16 years. He played an important role in the return of golf to the Olympics.
Harmon is a great instructor in golf history. His students include Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, as well as Greg Norman.
Farrell won 22 Tour victories and the 1928 U.S. Open.
Furyk has won 17 PGA Tour victories, including the 2003 U.S. Open. In 2010, he was named Player of The Year. He is the only golfer who has shot a score of 58 in competition.
Hanson won the U.S. Women’s Am 1950, and went on winning three majors as well as 17 titles.
Kerr has won 20 times and been part of two majors. She has also been a member of nine Solheim Cup teams. She is third on the LPGA’s all time money list.
Sigel was a brilliant amateur who won 27 total am events including the 1982-83 U.S. Amateur, the 1979 British Am, and three U.S. Mid-Ams.
