The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday afternoon that 11 LIV Golf Series players, including Phil Mickelson, and Bryson deChambeau filed lawsuits against PGA Tour to challenge suspensions they received following their move to the Saudi-backed circuit.
Jay Monahan, PGA Tour Commissioner, sent a memo to Tour players shortly after that.
Monahan stated in the statement that “We have been preparing for protection of our members and contest the latest attempt to disrupt the Tour,” and that he was confident in the legal merits. “Fundamentally these suspended players, who are now employees of the Saudi Golf League, have walked out of the Tour and want to return.”
