If you feel that PGA TOUR Fantasy Golf is not important to you, you are doing it wrong. RELATED: Horses For Courses. The FedExCup points earned by Sleeper picks golfers in the Playoffs are worth quadrupled. A win is worth 2,000 and a solo second is worth 1,200. This means that the FedEx bonus points that you get for your starters in final rounds will reflect this. You’ll get 200 points (or 10%) for a win instead of 50. Fourth-place finishes will earn 54 points. This is four more than winning at the Wyndham Championship last week. Segment 4 is, for all intents and purposes. You don’t want to lose any starts to the haymakers, as they will need them to connect for wins in the interim. You will often see them, but they may not be the same chalk as you have played. Therefore, it is advisable to end-load in order to maximize your chances of winning a league championship. For those who are new to PGA TOUR Fantasy Golf, but it is a good reminder for the returning players, this rule states that FedExCup bonus points will be awarded at the conclusion of TOUR Championship based upon the final leaderboard finish. TOUR Championship FedExCup Bonuses follows the same structure that the other two playoff events.” Furthermore, starting strokes at East Lake will influence the final leaderboard finish at TOUR Championship, so you want to use the top seeds as your starters, regardless of your league position. Write down the potential rosters for your final round and calculate how many starts are left for each golfer. You should have at least two starts, so you can lock one in for TOUR Championship. Once you have a structure to your conclusion, go back to the FedEx St. Jude Championship. Even if your pace is slow, this is the best time to use the chalk as it has a lot of history at TPC Southwind. Wilmington County Club’s South Course, Delaware will be hosting next week’s BMW Championship. This is where ball-striking skills are more important than any other skill. (More about that later.) If you have more than two short-listers, you can approach the St. Jude like you would any other event, except for the Playoffs. You should rely on your current form, course history, and other variables that affect our weekly decisions. These instructions, which are based on experience and proven success over time – including PGA TOUR Experts league champions; wink wink – do not guarantee anything but will put you in the best position to pounce and for a longer period of time. You should also be aware that if you are properly pressured, your affliction will not cover all bases in one round or week. This is the season to chase! POWER RANKINGS WILD CREDIT Shane Lowry (+150 to a Top 20)…. He is given the benefit of the doubt for one week in a non major even though he was not cut (T83 Wyndham). On the back of a string of impressive performances in 2022, he’s currently 28th in FedExCup. He has shown no signs of slowing down and it would be a surprise if he doesn’t make East Lake’s final two weeks. This is not insignificant. He finished T6 (2020), and T23 (2021), with an average score of 68.125. DRAWS Joaquin Niemann (+170 to a Top 20)… It’s easy to forget that he is only 23 years old and has completed his fourth season on the PGA TOUR card. There have been many learning curves but so much success. It is important to accept the challenge and to continue to use complementary skills in the best way possible. He is so close to becoming a cornerstone. Scott Stallings (+275 to be in the Top 20)… This has been the summer for Stallings. He started the spring with a T4 at Colonial in May and has since taken off a T8–T4–T10–T13 since the Travelers. It would be foolish to wonder if he has any left in the tank. Not to mention the fact that he took a three-week break during the run. Experience is a great asset. The Tennessee Tech product had eight consecutive starts at TPCSouthwind in 2018, when it hosted the open through 2018. He’s currently at 41st place in the FedExCup and is poised to make his deepest Playoffs run since 2008. Cam Davis Matt Kuchar Alex Noren Taylor Pendrith Seamus power Justin Rose Aaron Wise Odds sourced Tuesday, August 9th, at 7 p.m. ET. Live odds at betmgm FADES Viktor Hovland…. Small greens may expose his difficulties around them. It’s unlikely that he will be able to play four rounds together unless he is leading the field in greens in regulation. Retire to observation at TPC Southwind, where he failed to crack the top 35 in either WGC or he competed, and consider Wilmington CC. He’ll be there, he’s 19th in FedExCup. Keegan Bradley… His skill set will make more sense over the next week, even though he was still a bit shaky upon his arrival. Although it is somewhat harsh to refer it as evidence, it doesn’t help that he did not finish within the top 50 in the limited-field WGC in either attempt. Webb Simpson… Despite having only one hole left to play, he decided not to finish his second round at Wyndham Championship due to a delay in the weather. He was also short of time and wasn’t likely to make it to the cut. It was disappointing, but it was in line with many others after Webb Simpson returned from the neck injury which sidelined him for two weeks early this year. He is seeded at 122nd so it will take his best performance in recent memories to survive. Adam Hadwin Kevin Kisner Marc Leishman Gary Woodland RETURNING to COMPETITION Hideki Mizuyama… Hideki completed the golf’s Scrabble board at the 3M Open with his mid-tournament WOD (due in part to a broken left wrist). It was able to chase an MC at Memorial and a DQ at Genesis Scottish Open. He is now ranked 11th in the FedExCup thanks to two top fives (also within his last seven starts) and two early wins. He’s strong enough to not force him to the issue at TPC Southwind, where he was one the two playoff victims last season. So, consider this week as a test to see if he is healthy and if he can use his tee to green talent on next week’s test. Si Woo Kim… Although it is unfortunate and unfair to be associated with his behavior, his 13th career WD and mid-round WD due to illness at the Wyndham Championship finale was yet another example of why it can be difficult to invest in him on a weekly basis. He is currently 48th in the FedExCup. Danny Lee… This is Danny Lee’s fifth attempt to play since his hip injury in June forced him from the Travelers. He is now at 89th in FedExCup. Although he was guaranteed to make the Playoffs, there are no other lifelines. Hayden Buckley… Hayden Buckley is 95th in FedExCup. He was able to make the Wyndham cut, but withdrew because of a sore wrist. Although he has had a history of an injury to his left wrist, it wasn’t clear which wrist forced him to withdraw last week. Jason Day… Jason Day was close to finishing his first full season without a mid tournament WD since 2017-18. But illness took its toll last week and he decided to quit after opening at Sedgefield with 67. He is currently 113th in FedExCup. It would take a great performance to move up. T6 was his last trip to TPC Southwind 2020. He had four sub-70s, but that’s quite a while ago. NOTEABLE WDs Daniel Berger… He hasn’t played since U.S. Open. This effectively ended his season and caused ongoing pain in his back. The FedExCup ranked 78th for the 29-year-old. Tommy Fleetwood… He ended the regular season at 78th in the FedExCup. He did it because a high Official World Golf Ranking consistently within the top 50 can make this possible. He is 47th in the FedExCup but announced that he will be spending more time with his family now. His mom passed away three weeks ago. The Englishman should still advance in the Playoffs despite sitting out this week. He has plenty of time to reconsider his decision and make a run for the BMW Championship, although it seems unlikely. Nate Lashley… A torn toe will end his season. It’s something he has been fighting for quite some time. He is currently ranked 98th in points and cannot move up. The 39-year old had a good contract season, but he missed the Playoffs in 2020-21’s super season. He still misses nearly one of every two cuts so fantasy leagues are the best place to store his long-term value. Lanto Griffin… He said that he will likely be sidelined the rest of the year after undergoing microdiscectomy surgery on July 25. He was the 69th seed in the Playoffs, so he will not be advancing unless all the TPC Southwind guys are higher. That should have a prop!
