We’ve been waiting for it – an official adjustment. This is the big news of this week. On June 9, the PGA TOUR released details on how it would react to golfers who resigned (and plan to resign) and those who were (and are) suspended. The Eligibility Points List, which was published Tuesday of this week. The Eligibility Points List confirms that the FedExCup Playoffs will be decided by the top 125 golfers who have not resigned and have not been suspended. This list includes all golfers who have earned more than zero FedExCup Points during the 3M Open. Non-members have the same goals for the non member top 125 category (for fully exemption status in 2022-23) as for the top 200 category (to qualify to the KFT Finals). RELATED: Horses For Courses, Sleeper Picks Sometimes, golfers on the bubbles will need to mention both rankings. Callum Tarren, a rookie on the PGA TOUR, is 126th in FedExCup. However, he’s 118th in Eligibility Points List, just 25 points ahead of Austin Smotherman who is 126th but 134th in FedExCup. These references will not be available until the fields have been set in the next two weeks. Please be patient. These references are meant to be clear and reliable for your considerations. POWER RANKINGS WILD Card Denny McCarthy (+150 to a Top 20) I was shocked that no complaints were made that he was not included in the Power Rankings. He presented with three top 10s in his four previous starts. That would be a valid complaint. My main reason for being cool is because his game plays better on harder courses, due to his strong short game and putting. When he was able to project for a personal best finish, he was named the Wild Card for Travelers Championship. He missed the cut and was thus left with the tacit comment that he doesn’t usually make much noise on listenable tracks. He responded immediately with a personal best T6 at John Deere Classic, despite a even-par 71 finale. His game is changing in front of us and is proving to be a success. However, conservative investors want another taste of it when scores are low. DRAWS Adam Scott (+140 if a Top 20 player) and (+200 if a Top Australian player)… Cam Davis defends his title and, even though he is No. For twice the kickback, it is worth investing in Scott to be Top Australian. We can’t rule it out that Davis is still experiencing a lot of this week, so even though he is in good shape upon his arrival, we cannot ignore the distraction. Scott has been a top-15 performer in both his major and minor starts. He’s currently up to six in the world, and he will find Detroit GC to be a good fit for his debut. Matt Kuchar (+240 to be a Top 20) is another household name making his tournament debut. The 44-year old is expected to make another deep run in this year’s Playoffs. It’s been a solid season, with hot starts. TOUR currently ranks second in R1 scoring, and first in the number of putts per round. Strokes gained: Scrambling and around-the-Green are also tops in one putt percentage. He is a natural in all formats. Joohyung Kim (+1220 for a Top-20)… There’s nothing not to love in the South Korean 20-year old. Although he was eligible for an accepted Special Temporary Membership [STM], the default endorsement is not complete if it doesn’t serve to remind him that he’s not eligible for the FedExCup Playoffs, unless he wins next week or next. This article provides a detailed overview of the STM results. Wyndham Clark Mackenzie Hayes Callum Tarren Cameron Tringale Vegas Odds Sourced Tuesday, July 26th, at 7 p.m. ET. Live odds can be found at betmgm FADES Webb Simpson. Only one top 15 has been achieved in the past eight months (! It shouldn’t be surprising that he was not included in the Power Rankings. It’s telling that he is 125th in FedExCup and117th in Eligibility Points. Although his injured neck has deprived him of some starts in 2022, he hasn’t responded strongly. This week, he presents only as a contrarian. No matter what the outcome, next week’s Wyndham Champion will be his best test. He’s the all time earnings leader. Gary Woodland… He cashes and that momentum tends forward so he is a great candidate for live odds. However, he has traded too many missed cut for too long to maintain even average trust. He is also 0-for-2 in the RMC. Brian Stuard… The tournament is often the next thing that comes to mind when we think about Brian Stuard. He is a native of Michigan and was a student at nearby Oakland University. He finished T5 in the inaugural edition, but has missed 10 consecutive cuts since his arrival. Last year, he also missed the cut with a pair 1-under 71s. It’s hard to beat home cooking, but it doesn’t guarantee anything. Jason Day Harris English Russell Henley Charley Hoffman Si woo Kim Patton Kizzire Luke List RETURNING to COMPETITION Danny Lee… He pulled out of the 3M and Scottish Travelers early after he injured his hip in the first round. He can’t afford to push it. After a T2-T7 surge, he is currently ranked 84th in FedExCup. He’s been ready for the Playoffs since November. You should avoid all formats due to his tendency to WD in tournaments and his uncertain health. Notable WDs Emiliano Grillo… He rose from the top 150 bubble to 53rd place in the FedExCup with a pair co-runner up finishes in July. Brendon Todd… His timing is a great moment to reflect upon his career revival. After a four-year slide, he is currently 67th in FedExCup. He will be making his third consecutive Playoffs. The 37-year old has been a consistent contributor again.
