Donald Trump is right.
Four words are rarely used together.
The former Palm Beach resident and president, who was indicted as well as facing several other investigations and trials, predicted that LIV Golf would merge with the PGA Tour last July.
Trump wrote in July on Truth Social that golfers who remain ‘loyal,’ to the disloyal PGA in its various forms, would pay a high price if the inevitable MERGER between LIV and PGA occurs. PGA officials, who make Millions of dollars a year, would only say a huge ‘thank-you’.
Trump’s reaction on Tuesday.
“GREAT NEWS from LIV Golf. A BIG, BEAUTIFUL AND GLAMORISING DEAL FOR THE MAGICAL WORLD OF COUNTRY GOLF. Congratulations to all! “, he wrote in Truth Social.
Trump warned golfers to “take the cash now” last summer, predicting that the Tour would eventually set aside its pride and collaborate with LIV. Trump’s anger towards professional golf is a result of the PGA Tour moving their World Golf Championship from his course in Doral to Mexico in 2017 and the PGA of America relocating the 2022 PGA Championship away from his club in Bedminster in New Jersey after the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Trump’s support is more than vocal. LIV held events at his properties in Doral and Bedminster last year. LIV has added Trump National Golf Club Washington D.C. to its schedule for this year.
Trump has participated in each pro-am tournament the day before it began.
Trump said that LIV and Saudis did a “fantastic job” after his pro-am in Doral, Florida in November.
It’s big money and big time. He said, “It’s unlimited.” “And it’s different. You heard the music?
The New York Times reported that the Justice Department was interested in Trump’s business dealings with Golf LIV. The Times reported that a subpoena had been issued to the Trump Organization to obtain records related to Trump’s business dealings with LIV.
“I have known these people in Saudi Arabia for a very long time.” “They’ve been my friends for a very long time,” Trump stated last year, during LIV’s stop at Trump’s Bedminster course. “They have invested in many American businesses.” They own large percentages in many American companies. “Frankly, they are doing so much for golf, and for the players, that the salaries will go up dramatically.”
