Rumours began to circulate that LIV Golf had finally agreed to be broadcast to a television station near you. David Feherty, who was part of the Saudi-backed league last season, suggested the deal during a Florida show.
The news is now official.
LIV and the CW Network have reached a multi-year broadcast agreement. The CW will broadcast all 14 events during next season and offer a streaming option via its app.
This is a significant day for LIV Golf, as this partnership goes beyond media rights. Greg Norman, LIV Golf’s CEO, stated that the CW will make it easy for fans to access our games and give our partners and athletes maximum exposure as they reach more than 120 million households in the United States. “We are proud to say that even though the league has been around for one year, we have secured a broadcast deal for its first full season.
Events have 54 holes and no cuts. Saturday and Sunday coverage will be on The CW and CW App, while Friday’s action will only be on The CW.
“Our partnership between The CW & LIV Golf will bring a whole new audience to the league and increase the excitement worldwide. In a press release, Dennis Miller, President of The CW Network, stated that more people can enjoy LIV Golf’s energy through CW’s broadcasts or streams.
“Our partnership with LIV golf marks a significant milestone for The CW in our goal of re-engineering the network with high quality, diverse programming for our viewers and advertisers, as well as our affiliates. This is also the first time that The CW has been the exclusive broadcast home of live mainstream sports in its 17-year history.
Broadcast features and talent LIV Golf, which debuted in 2022, will continue to be available in ’23.
