The PGA Tour announced a number of changes on Wednesday. These included increased participation in the same tournaments by top players and an expanded Player Impact program.
These changes are in addition to others announced earlier, and are designed to fight LIV Golf, the Saudi-backed series that Greg-Norman runs. Despite the many departures of Tour golfers to LIV Golf and other changes, Jay Monahan, the Tour commissioner, stated Wednesday that the Tour was having its best year in the PGA Tour’s history. He also said that the Tour is performing better than budget.
Monahan also mentioned how Tour would not welcome back golfers who had defected from LIV and that he didn’t want to get involved in scenarios.
He said, “As it pertains to any of these scenarios for LIV players coming back, and I’ll remind that we’re involved in a lawsuit.” They have sued us. It doesn’t make sense to talk about hypotheticals at this stage.

Saudi Arabia is being accused of a wide range of human rights violations, including torture, forced disappearances, politically motivated killings, and inhumane treatment for prisoners. Saudi royals and the Saudi government were also accused of being involved in Jamal Khashoggi’s murder, a Saudi journalist.
However, this hasn’t stopped the ongoing debate about PGA Tour vs. LIV. This will likely continue for some time.

LIV Golf replied Wednesday and said it was jokingly trolling the PGA Tour.
LIV Golf stated that “LIV Golf” is the “best thing that has ever happened to support the careers of professional golfers.” In a statement to Golfweek, LIV Golf said:
Norman wasn’t content to be quiet, either. He posted a meme on his Instagram with the caption “A day late, a dollar short.”
It’s safe to say that there is no shortage of pettiness at Norman and LIV Golf.
