What?! Jon Rahm did not win the Farmers Insurance Open ??!! Yep. This month, the big man has to accept two losses. Rahm is still at the top of the FedExCup standings, as the PGA TOUR enters the second quarter 2022-23 season. He is just 17 points behind Max Homa, the man who won the Farmers – Max Homa. The champion started the final round of the South Course at Torrey Pines with a four-way T4 and five strokes behind Sam Ryder. Homa finished with 6-under-66 and posted 13-under-275 for a margin of two strokes over Keegan Bradley. Ryder finished in fourth place with a 3-over 75 in final round. This was four strokes slower than Homa’s pace. Ryder took the lead in the first round with an 8-under 64 on North Course. He remained alone at the top of the leaderboard after the second- and third rounds. His investors had a great Saturday night ahead of them, with +30000 to win the BetMGM pre-tournament. Rahm opened at a paltry +450 so it was a great week to consider the “not Rahm” option. Homa opened at a respectable +2200, tied for seventh-shortest odds. It’s not surprising, considering he had already won the Fortinet Championship upstate California to start the season and that three of his five first TOUR titles were in his home state. For the SoCal native, that’s four out of six. Bradley won the race at +6000. Collin Morikawa (+400) was the second finisher.
