The PGA TOUR Pick ‘Em Live replaced the Top 20 players with the Top USA Player in TOURNAMENT betting at THE CJ CUP in South Carolina. This is to commemorate the return of PGA TOUR. Calculating the arc for a dart that is thrown at one-quarter the field guarantees that a player will be in the top 20 of the 78-man competition. These odds are low enough to disqualify the play and eliminate any coins. We’ll no doubt be back on that board soon. Congaree Golf Club has boxes of chalk this week. This means that next-tier talent is valued in a lot of places. Below is our homework. Copy our homework. Register here for PGA Tour Pick ‘Em Live to follow Rob’s progress as an Influencer. Click here for a more detailed explanation and FAQs. TOURNAMENT TO WEAR Glass… Lucas Glover (+30000). It’s back to normal time and making normal decisions. This week’s field is huge, with 21 of the top 30 players in the Official World Golf Ranking participating. I don’t mind trolling for outsiders. Glover is the Professional Ambassador for Congaree Golf Club and should have the best idea of what’s ahead of him this week. He posted T3 at TPC Southwind, with four rounds in 60s the last time he was on Bermuda. As usual, if the plan fails, I’ll still have 77 options to choose from throughout the weekend. Dream big! Rob… Sepp Straka (+8000). The imposing Austrian helped me to my best finish at PGA Tour Pick ‘Em, that was a bronze for his breakthrough victory in The Honda Classic. I grabbed +10000 to win his second round. He made me look foolish – the latest in a long list of guilty – when I almost won the Sanderson Farms Championship at The Honda Classic. I went to school, the conservative prognosticator within me. Lektion learned. This is a good choice against a stiff field because he’s comfortable on top of the leaderboard and because I will continue to open at long odds every other week. Congaree is known for rewarding a noteworthy, so I didn’t love anyone outside of this range. TOP 10 Rob… Rickie Foller (+475) I am grateful for your loyalty and swear that I’m not playing Whac a Rikie. He was a wonderful person. He missed the cut, as it turned out. He was a co-runner up at the ZOZO and then he scored a season-opening, T6 at Fortinet. To open with these odds of another top 10, I’ll cowboy for it. It doesn’t hurt that the window has been open enough recently to allow for Congaree cooperation. Glass… Cam Davis (+475) This big-hitting Aussie should have plenty of space to navigate and operate in. The design will bring back memories of his home to the former Australian Open winner at age 22. What was your best finish on TOUR? Yes, that’s right. A T3 in South Carolina at Harbour Town on Hilton Head Island. This window offered plenty of opportunities last week, but I hope I don’t have to use it again this week. TOP USA PLAYER Glass… Luke List (+6600). I know that this won’t be open during the four rounds. Let’s hope for some luck! Rumours suggest he has the “unofficial” course record. I will take my chances. His last top 10 was at Torrey Pines (win), so we’ll hope that he finds the right course this week. I will continue to use plenty of chalk in the category if he doesn’t. This week, Bermuda will be back in play. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Rob… Justin Thomas (+750). Glass is singing his favourite Daft Punk song, but I am not as certain that I will be able to catch this bet again, if it unlocks. It would be simple to add the Top 20 bets to this bet, but I seem to remember that the previous Top USA Player bets were closed during my waking hours. This is an easy call. JT is the top American at No. 3. In my Power Rankings. ROUND 1 LEADER Rory McIlroy (+1600). It’s my rule, so I don’t defer! Why would I? He’d be in the field if he wants to win. Round 1 is where it all starts. GLASS-HALFEMPTY’s good news is that he will tee off in the 11th group. This gives him time to #PIVOT, if he’s not already on #59Watch. Three of the top three leaders at Congaree’s 2021 Palmetto Championship posted 64. However, none of them are being entered this week. Rob … Emiliano Grillo (+5000) Here we go again. East Coast golf. The first two or three threesomes for Thursday will have been completed by the time I feel lucid, so I am inclined to purchase early and keep the receipt. Everyone is starting at 1. The Argentine is the third member of the trio. He has been stripping it lately so I expect my first facial expression to be a: He’s better at opening than he is close to him. It’s great for him, and good for us. But I still go to bed well. Glass and Rob usually stick to their Pick ‘Em Preview selections, but they have the right to change at any time.
