Tiger Woods is once again in the spotlight as he returns to competition this week. The 15-time major champion is making his first appearance on the course since withdrawing from the 2023 Masters earlier this spring. He will be competing at the 2023 Hero World Challenge at Albany in the Bahamas.
Tiger Woods’ Comeback
The Hero World Challenge, a tournament hosted by Woods that benefits his TGR Foundation, is a non-official PGA Tour event. It features a field of 20 of the world’s best players, including Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Max Homa, and Viktor Hovland.
Woods missed last season’s Hero World Challenge due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. However, as a five-time winner of the tournament, he has a strong track record. His most recent victory was in 2011, and he has finished as the runner-up on five occasions as well.
