Michael Innes was having fun with friends at Rowes Bay Golf Club’s 13th green when he saw a monitor Lizard. Also known as a “goanna”, the lizard is found along Australia’s northeastern coast in Townsville.
Innes pulled out his camera, but he didn’t know what was going to happen next. Innes was calmly watching the situation as a magpie flew in to challenge the dangerous animal.
Innes shared the following: “I began to film the goanna because I wanted to show my kids back home this huge lizard. Then the magpie flew above my left shoulder, and the rest is captured on video,” Innes explained to Storyful.
